I was beyond thrilled when I learned that our district had created our own Google Domain this fall for staff to use Google Apps. Our principal had already begun to use Google Docs quite extensively through her gmail account, and she and I were both anxious to get our staff up and running as well.
Bill Bradley and I worked together to plan and develop training for our Department Chairs in November. The trainings went well, although I think they were a little fast paced for some of our staff. From that point on, Bill led a few planning period trainings on Google Apps and I was able to lead many individual trainings with our staff members. I also had the chance to work with my Digital Mentees during our study group.
Some of the most effective and rewarding projects that I helped staff to complete were in the form of surveys. I collaborated with a few of our secretaries and Katy Saville to create Parent Teacher conferences surveys for both the fall and spring. I was also able to work with Jon Hebel (one of my mentees) to troubleshoot an effective way for his students to submit lab reports. Finally, I worked closely with Monique Miguel to create a survey that was used for AP Test Registration.
